Jesus Mateo

Spanisch artist born in 1971 in Cuenca. It owes its fame to the project of painting in fresco the deconsecrated Church (XVI Century) of San Juan Bautista in Alarcon (Castilla La Mancha), today Centro Pintura Murales de Alarcon. Monumental work from 1995 until the early 2000s that led this "masterpiece" to be awarded as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.  Great names Ibero-American culture have written about him and his work; among them José Saramago (Nobel Prize for literature 1998) who wrote: "Jesus Mateo was born from the same family tree that bore its best fruits in Bosch and Brugel.
